Joint Traffic Enforcement Safety Operation to take place in Fremont on Wednesday, May 20.

Over the last several years, the Alameda County Sheriff’s Traffic Unit has coordinated a multi-agency traffic enforcement event geared toward reducing injury collisions and dangerous driving behavior in various cities on a rotating basis. On Wednesday, between the hours of 6:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m., the Fremont Traffic Unit will coordinate 20-30 officers from participating Alameda County law enforcement agencies at pre-identified locations chosen based on complaints from the community, injury collision data and traffic/pedestrian volume. The specific locations will include, but are not limited to:

• The Mowry corridor between I880 and Mission Blvd.

• The areas surrounding the Fremont BART station.

• The Stevenson Blvd. corridor between Mission Blvd and Fremont Blvd.

In addition to enforcing dangerous driving behaviors, officers will also be on the lookout for Click It or Ticket campaign violations. We hope that this operation will have a widespread impact in our community by promoting traffic safety, deterring dangerous driving behaviors and educating drivers through enforcement contacts. We value our community partnership in achieving traffic roadway safety.
