Are there volunteer opportunities available?
Yes, volunteers are taken on an as-needed basis and recruitment is continuous.


To apply, drop by the shelter during business hours (Tues-Fri 11 am - 4 pm or Sat. 12 pm - 5 pm) to speak with the Animal Services Volunteer Coordinator and pick up an application.


Volunteer Requirements:

•Be at least sixteen years of age.
•Be willing to become comfortable around animals and familiar with basic animal behavior.
•Be comfortable interacting with the public.
•Must be able to follow rules, policies and procedures of the Tri-City Animal Shelter.
•Be able to commit at least two hours a week for a minimum of six months (we have flexibility in the hours).
•Be able to volunteer on weekdays and/or Saturdays between the hours of 9:00 am-5:00 pm.
•Be able to pass a background, including a records check and fingerprinting.

It generally takes 2-4 weeks to complete the steps to become an Animal Services Volunteer.
