What is the Mission of the Fremont Police C.A.R.E. Volunteer Program?
The Fremont Police Volunteers C.A.R.E. Program helps support the goals and mission of the Fremont Police Department by developing and strengthening partnerships and relationships between the department and the community. Our pledge is to recruit, train, and retain talented volunteers who will be encouraged to participate in meaningful community safety, security, and service programs.
What is new about the Fremont Police C.A.R.E. Volunteer Program?
The Fremont Police Department is expanding our existing volunteer program to include new assignments in the community.
What are the new volunteer assignments?
The two new branches of the existing volunteer program are: Operations and Community Outreach. These two areas of volunteer assignments require additional specialized training provided by the Police Department staff.

What are the requirements?
Minimum Age = 18 years old
Currently live or work in Fremont
Preferred: graduate of the Fremont Police Department's Citizens' Police Academy
High school graduate or equivalent
No Felony convictions
No Misdemeanor convictions within three (3) years
Be of good moral character, as determined by a thorough background investigation
Fingerprint Clearance (FBI/DOJ)
Possess a Valid California Driver's License (if driving is required for assignment)
Be in satisfactory medical condition, with written approval from a personal physician
Ability to commit 16 hours a month to the program
Overall approval by the Chief of Police.
