Crimes Against Persons Unit
The Crimes Against Persons Unit is comprised of one sergeant, 12 investigators, and a secretary.The assignments within the unit include investigating:
  • Child abuse
  • Child molestation
  • Cold case homicides
  • Felonious assaults
  • Homicides
  • Internet crimes against children
  • Kidnapping 
  • Missing persons
  • Officer-involved shootings
  • Registration of all sexual registrants (Megan’s Law)
  • Robberies
  • Sexual assaults (child and adult)
  • Suspicious deaths

All investigators work an active case file and could be assigned up to 20 cases at one time.The unit works closely with the General Assignment Unit and Patrol, as well as the Community Engagement Unit.

General Assignment Unit
The General Assignment (Property Crimes) Unit is comprised of one sergeant and eight investigators. The assignments within the unit include investigating:
  • Auto theft
  • Burglaries
  • Forgery
  • Hi-tech computer crimes
  • Identity theft

At any time, investigators could be assigned up to 20 cases.  The unit works closely with the Crimes Against Persons Unit and Patrol, as well as the Community Engagement Unit.
