Submit a Tip
For the first time, citizens in Fremont now have the ability to provide crime tips through the power of anonymous text messaging, email and webtips.  None of the tip services should be used for reporting in-progress criminal activity.  Tips are monitored daily, but not on a 24 hour basis.  In progress (non-life threatening) information should be called into our Dispatch center at 790-6800, option 3.

Fremont Police and Crime Reports have joined together once again to provide a new service that allows community members the ability to send anonymous tips by sending a text message from a mobile phone or a webtip online.

Submit a Tip

Email
If you would like to send the Fremont Police Department a tip, photograph or video, please use e-mail.  This method is not anonymous.

Text - Anonymous
Text users can send their tip to "CRIMES" (274637) with keyword FremontPD.  In other words, citizens can text FremontPD plus their crime tip to 274637 (CRIMES).

Smartphone - Anonymous
If you are an iPhone® or Android™ phone user, you can provide anonymous tips, including smartphone photographs and video, to the Fremont Police Department via the free TipSoft App that can be found in your mobile phone marketplace or in the iTunes store.  You can also scroll down and download it directly from our webpage.

Webtip - Anonymous
If you prefer to send your tip via the web, simply go to www.tipsubmit.com.  From the www.crimereports.com website you can click on a crime that has already been reported to submit additional information or click the submit a tip box in the top right corner to begin your tip submission.

How it Works

Using TipSoft from CrimeReports, information may be anonymously received and securely replied to with complete confidence.  The service was built specifically to allow text messaging information to remain anonymous by encrypting the text messages and routing them through secure servers, protecting the personal details of the informant.  TipSoft also allows police to respond by text message to the originating cell phone without ever knowing the identity of the individual who left the tip.  The user's information is always given an alias and a unique ID before being sent.  This secure application allows the tipster and the investigator to have two-way dialog while always keeping the user's identity completely anonymous.

The widespread use of smartphones makes it easy for the public to help law enforcement agencies fight crime. And with the TipSoft apps, they can know that it’s safe for them to do the right thing without ever disclosing their identity.  Features include:

  • Submit images and video
  • Unlimited messaging length
  • Fully anonymous two-way dialogue including virtual chat mode when both parties are online
  • Auto-locate the nearest agency
  • Available in the Apple App Store and Android Market

This is not an application for reporting in-progress crimes or suspicious activity. TipSoft is designed as a means to report information about any non-urgent illegal activity, such as unsolved cases, vandalism, theft, the sale and distribution of drugs or information about crimes that are being planned in the community or schools.
