1. Can you give me directions to the jail?
- From I-880 North, take the Stevenson Blvd. exit. Go East on Stevenson Blvd. to the Police Department at 2000 Stevenson Blvd. The Detention/Jail Facility is located to the rear of the Police Department, 1990 Stevenson Blvd.

2. How can I post bail for a prisoner in your custody?
- A prisoner has a right to be released on bail unless arrested for an offense where No Bail is permitted, or unless arrested on a warrant or detainer which specifies "No Bail".
- The Fremont Jail will accept bail 24-hours a day in the form of cash, cashier's checks, and surety bonds from a bailbonds person or his/her representative.
- Personal checks may be accepted from other than the prisoner, but only for charges to be heard in the Fremont Hall Of Justice, or warrants issued by that court. A current proof of funds from a bank ( e.g. a ATM card receipt dated that day), a valid form of identification and a thumb print from the person issuing the check(s) are required.
- 10% fee in lieu of total bail or a credit card is not accepted.
- Prisoners who are in custody on charges to be heard in the Fremont Court and are unable to post bail will be scheduled for the next available court day.
- Prisoners who are in custody on non-Fremont Court cases and are unable to post bail will be transferred to the Alameda County Jail (Santa Rita) on the next available trip.

3. What are the visiting hours at the jail?
- The Jail visiting hours are:
Monday through Friday, 7:00p.m. - 10:00p.m.
Saturday and Sunday, 1p.m. - 5:00p.m.
- Each prisoner will be limited to two-30 minute visits per day, excluding visits with their attorneys, bailbondsman or physicians.
- Visitors must be 18 years or older and must have a valid form of identification.
- Minors, visiting their parents are permitted when accompanied by an adult 18 years or older.
4. How long will you keep a person in jail for being under the influence of drugs or alcohol?
- Persons arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol are held for at least six(6) hours, or when that person is sober enough to provide for his/her own safety.
5. What time do prisoners go to court?
- Prisoners who are in custody at the Fremont jail are scheduled for arraignment in court on the next court day at 2:00 pm in dept. #604.
6. Where is the location of the Fremont Hall of Justice?
- The Fremont Hall Of Justice is located at 39439 Paseo Padre Parkway at Walnut Ave .
7. There is a warrant for my arrest, How do I turn myself in to take care of the warrant?
- For all misdemeanor warrants of arrest, you can self-surrender before 11:00 a.m. during court days to the Marshall's office at the Fremont Hall of Justice Court.
- For felony or misdemeanor warrant of arrests, you can self surrender to the Fremont Jail at any time; but if you want to appear in court on the same day that you self-surrender, you must come to the Fremont Jail before 8:00 a.m. during court days for booking .
- If the warrant of arrest is eligible for bail, you have the option to post bail to appear in court at a later date.

8. How can I get a prisoner's property released to me?
- During regular visiting schedules, simply come to the jail lobby with a valid form of identification and tell the jailers on duty that you came to pick up property from a prisoner.
- In cases of emergencies, the jail will release the prisoner's property outside the regular visiting schedules.
- You will be required to sign the property form acknowledging receipt of the prisoners property.
9. Can I bring clothing, medication, food or money to a prisoner in the jail?
- Food or money for prisoners is not accepted by the jail.
- On a prisoner's request, an even exchange of clothing is allowed by the jail. A fresh set of clothes will be accepted by the jail if:
- The prisoner's clothing were taken for evidence during the booking process.
- The prisoner did not have any clothing on when he got to the jail.
- Prescription medication will be accepted by the jail if:
- It does not fall under the types of medication which are prohibited in the jail.
- The prescription medication is properly labeled with the prisoner's name.
- The medication is not in capsule form.

10. What happens to the prisoner who is sent to Fremont Court from your jail?
- For a court disposition on a prisoner that was sent to the Fremont Court, please call the Marshall's office at 795-2590.
- Most prisoners who are sent to court are not returned to the jail. The prisoners are either released from court or remanded into custody at Santa Rita (Alameda County Jail). Santa Rita's telephone number is (925)551-6500.
11. How long does a Court Ordered Booking procedure take?
- It takes at least two hours to complete the Court Ordered Booking process.
- Court Ordered Booking hours are between 2:00 p.m and 12:00 midnight, daily.
- Persons who come to the jail for Court Ordered Bookings are required to remain inside the jail until the booking process has been completed by the jail staff.
12. How do I register as a Narcotics, Arson or sex offender?
- Registration hours are between 2:00 p.m. and 12:00 midnight during weekdays, and between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. on weekends.
- All 290 PC registrants (sex offenders) must first meet for interview with the detectives assigned to CRIMES AGAINST PERSONS INVESTIGATIONS before coming to the jail to register.The jail will not process 290 PC registrants who do not have in their possesion a state form #8102 (Annual Update Form), which is signed and approved for registrant booking by the interviewing detective.
- 11590 HS (Narcotics Offender) and 457.1 PC (Arson) registrants are not required to interview with the detectives, but should provide some form of identification and documents from the court, Department of Probation or Parole in order to expedite the registration.
- The registration procedure takes approximately two hours and you will be required to wait in the jail lobby until the process is completed by the jail staff. A card will be issued to the registrant at the completion of the booking process as proof of registration. If you leave before the card is issued, your registration will be considered incomplete.

13. Can I have my fingerprints taken at the jail for a job application requirement?
- The jail does not take fingerprints for job applicants at this time.
14. Can you check if there is a warrant for my arrest?
You will have to call the Warrants Section of the Fremont Police Department during business hours. The number is (510)790-6832.
15. Can I get information about a minor who was taken into custody?

The jail does not give out arrest information concerning minors. If you are a parent or legal guardian of a juvenile who was arrested, please call Juvenile Hall Information Services at (510) 667-4488, or the In-take line at (510) 667-7450.
16. Where is the location of Santa Rita Jail?
- Santa Rita Jail (Alameda County Jail) is located in Dublin. Please call (925)551-6500 for directions to their facility.
