Dispatcher of the Year
Everyday, hundreds of people depend on the skill, expertise and commitment of the Fremont Police Department Communications Center Dispatchers. This staff helps numerous lives by responding to emergency calls, dispatching emergency professionals, providing moral support, and compassion to citizens in distress.

Associated with emergency response is self-control under pressure and critical decision-making within seconds. Many people don't stop to think about the faceless individual who answers the 911 call until they experience an actual emergency themselves.

Each year, the Fremont Police Communications Unit nominates and votes for an employee who has shown outstanding work in the following areas: customer service delivery, dedication to police support, improve and strengthen the quality of service to the community, builds and maintains positive work relationships with peers and other police employees. This year the Communications Unit nominated and voted for two candidates Dorothy Schatzinger and Pat Manrique as 2003 Dispatchers of the Year.
