Potential for power shut-off due to high winds

High winds are in the forecast and we learned Monday that there is potential for power shut-offs in parts of Fremont mid-week. The warning affects multiple counties in Northern California. The City is actively monitoring and engaged in situational awareness calls with the County’s Office of Emergency Services and PG&E. We hope to have a better update by early afternoon Tuesday. In the meantime, we have two requests: Please sign up and follow us on Nixle.com, which is the best way to receive emergency alerts and advisories from Fremont PD. Second, please ensure your contact information is up to date with PG&E. PG&E is asking residents and business owners to make sure email, phone numbers, language preference and mailing address are current for your account. They want to be able to inform you about the possible need to proactively turn off power for public safety. Learn more and update your account online at: pge.com/psps
